Save Money with Home Made Cleaning Solutions! Our bodies are our temple. As such it is a sacred place. But, on a daily basis we are polluting our systems with the chemicals we use in our home and on our jobs. While it is eco-friendly, using cleaning products made from all natural ingredients will also detoxify your home and your bodily temple. Homemade cleaners are not hard to make. Where do you think the idea for many of the modern cleaning products came from? It is a matter of science at work. Something that is acidic will eat away at whatever is on a surface. It could be paint or dirt. Since we are talking about cleaning products, we’ll go with dirt. Gritty, abrasive substances will clean and remove dirt from the surface as well as cracks and crevices. Store bought cleaners have other components besides the main cleaning ingredients. Companies come up with substances that will eat away the dirt and soap scum but also burn your mucous membranes and make you cough. We often have the ingredients for our homemade cleaning solutions right under our noses. They are effective and they cost less than more commercial brands. Your primary investment will be in spray bottles to hold your cleaners but those will pay for themselves with frequent use. Most of these are nothing new and you may have seen your mother or grandmother use them once upon a time. Household Cleaning Mixtures Baking soda and vinegar – unclog a drain (can use Alka-Seltzer instead of baking soda) Homemade cleaning mixtures can be mixed in small batches and remade when needed. Even kids can help you clean when using products that are safe for you and the environment. Still, use your cleaning products in a well-ventilated environment. Household cleaners are an economical way to keep your house germ free and smelling wonderful. Essential oils can be purchased online or from a store that sells herbal preparations. You’ll want to be sure that the only ingredient in the bottle is the oil. See how quickly the air in your home becomes easier to breath. With a good scrub brush, cloth, and rag, you can use these products effectively all over the house. If you could use better products that are cost effective, why not create a few at home? Is Your Life Fulfilling?
This is a loaded question, but in a good way. Before you attempt to answer, use the scale of your dreams and goals to assist with the answer. Don’t depend on outside influences like the thoughts of others or the feelings of society. Be honest with yourself, after all only you are reading this and only you will know the answer. At one time or another we have set goals. Goals give us a reason for getting up in the morning. We are always moving towards something that makes an impact on our life. If you are in college, graduation day represents a goal. It may be four years down the road, but it is still in sight. When you find a job, the goal may change to one of promotion. We strive to be better than we are not because of others but because of our drive to do more than simply breathe the air. Each person wants their time on this planet to mean something. The meaning could be for us alone or for our families or the world. What are some of your goals and dreams? If you’ve never taken the time to write them down, buy a journal and do just that. It could take more than one sitting if you are rusty at delving deep within your mind. No matter how outrageous they seem, write ALL of your aspirations down. The culmination of dreams is not necessarily a lifelong career. You may want to scale a mountain, but that doesn’t mean you want to be a mountain climber. Scaling a mountain is an experience you’d like to have and fulfilling that adds a measure of character to your life. You may not meet all of our goals. An unmet goal either leads us down a better path or it sours our attitude. Strive for the former. Some of us are so set on keeping up with the Jones’ that we don’t realize the harm we are doing to our own level of joy in the process. Take a good, long look at your goals and dreams list. Who knew you had so many desires. Life is not about pursuing one path and staying on it for the rest of your life. It is about the detours and rest stops we choose to take that turn us into well-rounded and understanding people. Only you can answer the question, “Is Your Life Fulfilling?” No one knows your heart like you do. It is the question many long for someone else to answer for them, but you’ll soon realize that any answer another would give will be wrong because they are not you. You know you best. Use your goals and dreams as a guide to find the fulfillment you long for. Linda Allen |
